"Change only happens when ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it." In his farewell address, President Obama reminded us of our power and duty as citizens. In order to be effectively involved and engaged, we must be informed about the viewpoints, statements, and activities of our elected officials. Here are some useful online tools to increase our understanding of and engagement with our representatives.
The Mariposa Action website framework is built, and is now ready for more content. Have a look around, and consider submitting the following items:
Local Organizations: we would like to highlight the organizations doing good work in our community. Use the form on the Local Organizations page to submit one to the directory. Calendar: submit relevant meetings and events. To take part in online sharing and discussion - join our Facebook group. Please spread the word! Let other Mariposans know about our group, our meetings, and these online resources. Make the efforts needed to share information with members of our community who are less plugged into websites, email, and Facebook. Please send any website questions, comments, suggestions, corrections, and high praise via this form. |
